Gone are the days of sending expensive stationery to update guests on your big day. Now, everything your attendees need to know can go on one simple wedding website.
Here are a few details to include:
The location and time of your wedding. If there’s special information your guests need to know about your venue, include it here. This may include directions on where to park or how to get to the location.
A schedule for the day. Though it’s not mandatory to include this, many guests like to have a general idea of what’s going to happen and when. You might include details like when the afterparty will start or when dinner will be served.
The dress code. Tell your guests how formally they’ll need to dress for your big day. Share information about weather or other conditions that could affect what they wear. If you’re getting married in an area that makes wearing heeled shoes difficult, that’s information worth including too.
Information for out-of-town guests. If you’re having a destination wedding or have a lot of folks flying in for your ceremony, you’ll want to help them get the lay of the land. Share information about where they can stay and what they can do while they’re in town.
Your contact information. Let guests know the best way to get a hold of you. Hint: this typically isn’t your personal number or email! Inquiries from guests can add up quickly, so we recommend creating a separate email address for all things wedding-related and directing guests there.
Access to your registry. Your guests want to know how to shower you with love during this special time, so don’t forget to give them access to your wedding registry!
A sneak peek of your honeymoon. While this is optional, you’re welcome to share the details of when and where you’ll be honeymooning for curious guests! Many couples also include an option to gift money for their honeymoon.
Information about your wedding party. Though this isn’t mandatory, it can be a fun addition to include small bios about the members of your wedding party. It's a great way for people to “get to know” each other before the wedding begins! However, make sure you get permission from each member of the party before sharing about them online.
Your love story. Not everyone attending your wedding party will necessarily know how you met, so be sure to tell them. You can also share the story of the proposal. This is the most fun part of creating the wedding website, in our opinion!
Photos of the happy couple. Don’t forget to share a few snaps of your smiling faces. This is the perfect place to show off your engagement shoot.
And there you have it! A beautiful wedding website is easy to create and will save you hours communicating with and sending mail to your guests.
