October Weddings
With its crisp air, rich, warm color palettes against the cozy late-afternoon sunshine and the gorgeous, mild weather, October has been the most popular month for weddings for quite some time. That said, here are a couple of things to think about when beginning to plan:
If you’ve got your heart set on a highly popular venue, you’ll want to reach out and book your date as far in advance as possible. There will undoubtedly be many other couples interested in the same venue and there are only so many weekends in a month! (Vendors may also book up quickly for the month of October).
Budgeting is something to consider as well; because October is so popular it is highly likely that pricing follows suit. Venues and vendors may raise prices in the most popular months for weddings because demand is so high. You will want to prepare for this and make sure to put enough aside within your budget to pay for premium on-season pricing.
Remember that the sun sets a lot earlier in October. If you’re looking for those gorgeous, cozy Autumn Golden Hour outdoor photos, or the perfect, crisp/gray fall sky, make sure to pay attention to the timing of sunset and organize accordingly, together with your photographer and coordinator (we recommend us, of course! The weather tends to be pretty mild especially in the beginning-to-mid October where mornings are chillier, afternoons can warm up pretty nicely, and evenings get back to chilly. A great addition to your beautiful day, particularly if it is outdoors, is having blankets available for your guests. Another option is to encourage and remind guests on your invites about the weather and to plan for layers for the outdoor moments that could be a bit colder. Later October can sometimes dip into colder temperatures so layers can be very important for a comfortable day.
